Admission

To enroll in the Nurse Refresher Program (NRP), you must be a:

  1. Nurse with an inactive or expired license who wishes to return to nursing practice, or
  2. Currently licensed nurse who desires to take the program to refresh their skills and rebuild their confidence, or
  3. RN student who has completed one to two semesters of the program and want to take the LPN NCLEX to work as a practical nurse by equivalency (Only available in Idaho)

NRP requires an Authorization Form from your state Board of Nursing (BON). The purpose of this form is to ensure that the BON is willing to grant licensure upon completion of the program.

Idaho Launch Grant Program

For Idaho Residents, the Idaho Work Force Development Council offers a workforce grant that will support the RN or LPN fees for the NRP through a program called Idaho Launch. This can potentially cover up to 80% of the program costs.

Idaho Launch is a program of the Idaho Workforce Development Council that provides financial support to Idahoans for approved training. The Nurse Refresher Program has been approved for support through Idaho Launch. Before you start your training program, please visit this link and fill in the form: Idaho Launch Nursing Refresher Program. Once you fill out the form, you will be instructed to create an Idaho Works account if you don’t already have one. You will also be contacted by a career planner from the Idaho Department of Labor. The career planner will walk you through the process of enrolling in Idaho Launch.

Idaho Launch is currently unavailable. Applications will resume on August 15, 2024.
