Pre-Clinical Requirements

Before you can begin your clinical rotation, you must complete and submit the following requirements through our compliance tracking system, Complio. These documents will be reviewed for approval prior to the start of your rotation. You will receive access to Complio after successfully passing your pre-clinical post-test.

1. Temporary Nursing License
   • Submit your temporary nursing license from your state Board of Nursing
   • Utah and some other states do not require this
2. CPR Certification
   • Submit a current American Heart Association BLS (preferred) or American Red Cross BLS certification
   • Must include both a didactic component and hands-on skills validation
   • Not all clinical sites accept the American Red Cross certification
3. Health Insurance
   • Submit proof of current personal health insurance coverage
4. Vaccination & Immunization Records
   • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
     • 2 doses of MMR vaccine or positive antibody titers for all three components
   • Varicella (chickenpox)
     • 2 doses of Varicella vaccine or positive antibody titer
     • History of illness is not accepted
   • TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis)
     • Tdap administered within the past 10 years
   • Hepatitis B
     • 3-dose vaccination series or positive antibody titer
     • Declination is not accepted
   • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening
     • Negative 2-step PPD skin test, or
     • Negative QuantiFERON Gold blood test, or
     • Chest x-ray with symptom check (if previously positive)
   • Influenza
     • Submit documentation of the current season’s flu shot or a completed flu vaccine waiver
   • COVID-19
     • Submit documentation of COVID-19 vaccination series or a completed COVID-19 waiver
5. Background Check
   • A national criminal background check is required. This must be initiated and completed through the Complio system.
   • We cannot accept background checks completed through other systems or from previous employment.
6. Drug Screening
   • A 10-panel urine drug screen is required. This test must be completed through the designated process in Complio.
   • We cannot accept drug screenings completed elsewhere or from prior clinical placements.
